Suburban Fringe

WestSpace Gallery, Footscray Melbourne in 1996

In this exhibition the fringe landscape, where suburbia meets the rural, became a focus and fascination for me. The predictable altering of the landscape, starting with the destruction of the natural landscape to accommodate new freeway constructions, new housing estates, service station and fast food outlets is now the new world to satisfy our fast and accessible life style. Yet I’m drawn to the colors and shapes of this Suburban fringe evolution.
